Hi everyone, thanks again for signing the Petition to Support ACH Safety. We've reached over 200 signatures! Here's the latest news on our progress:

At its August 19 meeting, the LCF City Council adopted a new two-year Strategic Plan. The plan includes several objectives and steps related to improving safety on ACH.

  • The plan states the City's intention to "collaborate with Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to improve traffic safety on the Angeles Crest Highway (ACH), including potential road modifications, the use of technology (e.g., speed cameras), and enforcement strategies."
  • One of the plan's objectives is to "explore Angeles Crest Highway safety risks and devise strategies to work with or around Caltrans on those concerns."
  • The plan also includes several more detailed tactical steps, including "exploring relinquishment of the Angeles Crest Highway (ACH) segment from the State to the City" and "collaborating with Caltrans to consider design modifications to improve safety on ACH."

For those who are interested, you can read the full Strategic Plan here:

While the language in the Strategic Plan is a bit vague, this is still an important step in the right direction. By including objectives and tactical steps related to ACH in the plan, the City Council has indicated that improvements to ACH need to be a top priority.

Once again, please help us get more signatures by sharing this petition with everyone you know in the neighborhood. The more people we engage with on this issue, the better our chances of accomplishing something great for our community!

Thanks again for supporting this cause.
