The Planning Commission met yesterday for a public hearing on the project to demolish Carlsbad Village Plaza. However the developer pulled a fast one and made a successful last minute request for continuance, which postponed the hearing until June 19th. Although the given excuse was the absence of two commissioners, there was a quorum of 5 commissioners present. Be sure to include this to the  beginning of your message: Please send this message to the Planning Commission as correspondence and include it as a public comment for the project SDP 2023-0014. 

There was no legitimate reason to delay the hearing. The commissioners showed a great deal of deference to the developer and very little concern for the many residents who took time out of their busy day to attend.
