Dear Supporters,
We are thrilled to announce a significant victory in our fight for equality and justice for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs)! The National Medical Commission (NMC) has agreed to revoke the controversial notice dated June 7, 2024.
Key Updates:
- FMGs who obtain their compensation certificate before qualifying the FMGE exam will only need to undergo a one-year internship as part of CRMI.
- Those who obtain their compensation certificate after qualifying the FMGE exam will still be required to complete the 2-3 year internship as of now.
- While there are still some challenges for those who obtained their certificates post-FMGE, the majority of FMGs will benefit from this revocation.
This success wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support and solidarity from all of you. Special thanks to our faculty who stood by us, the FMG organizations, and every Foreign Medical Graduate who fought, believed, and spoke up on our behalf.
Together, we have made a difference! and for those who are appearing for FMGE this time, All the best!
With gratitude,
Tanmai Aasrith Varma Ayenampudi
