
City Council members at its meeting on June 20, 2023, voted to obtain the opinion from the Attorney General as to whether convicted felons without clemency may serve on appointed boards, despite Glennel Bowden expressing "there are others". Bowden shared he too was a convicted felon without clemency, now serving on the Pension Board, previously serving on the Charter Review Board for the City and County, working for a former congresswoman, and elected in prior terms as city councilmember.
