Dear Supporters,
Thank you—truly—for standing with New York’s Correction Officers, civilian staff, and their families by signing the petition to amend the HALT Act and censure Senator Salazar. Your voice matters, and because of you, we are closing in on 2,000 signatures. This momentum exists because individuals like you refuse to look away from the truth inside our correctional facilities.
Your signature is more than a name—it is a statement of solidarity with the men and women who face violence, trauma, and impossible working conditions every day. It is a reminder to them that while the public may not always see the work they do, they are not forgotten and they are supported.
But our work is far from finished.
To make our voices impossible to ignore in Albany, we need this effort to continue growing. Many people still do not know the reality inside our facilities or how the HALT Act has harmed officers, civilians, incarcerated individuals, and families alike.
We are asking each supporter to advocate for our Officers by helping collect at least five additional signatures. Five signatures from friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors can send a powerful message: New Yorkers stand with the frontline staff who keep our communities safe.
Please help by sharing the petition with:
- Friends
- Family
- Coworkers
- Retirees and community members who may not use social media
- Anyone who has supported Correction Officers throughout 2025
Even one conversation or one forwarded message can change someone’s understanding—and move them to act.

Thank you again for your compassion, your advocacy, and your commitment to meaningful change. Your support fuels the strength of the Officers and staff who continue walking into these facilities every day despite the risks. Together, we can push for accountability, safety, and a system that protects everyone inside.
With gratitude,
Dwight
