We, the undersigned parents, residents, and taxpayers of Sunny Isles Beach, are deeply concerned by the recent dismissal of Coach Jermaine Barclay from our city’s youth sports program. We respectfully urge the City of Sunny Isles Beach to reconsider this decision and reinstate a coach who has made an extraordinary and lasting impact on our children and our community.

Coach Barclay is more than just a coach — he’s a mentor, motivator, and role model. His dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for our youth have created a positive and supportive environment that extends far beyond athletics. He has taught our children the values of discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect — and in doing so, has brought families together and strengthened the fabric of our community.

Many of us consider him the most impactful coach Sunny Isles Beach has ever had.

The removal of Coach Barclay has already caused deep disappointment among young athletes and families who’ve experienced his leadership firsthand. It represents not only the loss of a trusted mentor but a setback to the growth and development of the city’s youth programming. We believe this decision does not reflect the best interests of our children or our community.

We ask that the City of Sunny Isles Beach reevaluate the circumstances of his dismissal and listen to the overwhelming support from residents who value his presence and leadership. Bring back Coach Barclay would reaffirm the city’s commitment to fairness, excellence, and the well-being of its young athletes.
