After receiving the petition from Tenafly parents, Board President Jocelyn Schwarz responded directly to petition author with the following email response: “Thank you for sharing this data. The board considered many factors when discussing this topic in 2023 and as shared previously, left the class size numbers unchanged. Since then, the board’s position has not changed. “ While the short and impersonal response from the BOE is disappointing, I refuse to give up on this cause! I encourage all Tenafly parents to join me in making our voices heard! If you believe, as I do, that the Board of Education is not prioritizing excellence in education by allowing class ratios to exceed recommended numbers, let’s make a change together. While the Board is choosing to ignore this petition, we can organize and demand change together.
