The Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks has officially decided NOT to move forward with the Milburn Kendrick Conservation Reserve!

This is an incredible win for Haliburton County and a direct result of the overwhelming public response. Your voices were heard—loud, clear, and united. This decision protects responsible public access to Crown land and reflects the values and traditions that matter most to the people who live, work, and recreate here.

But while we celebrate today, we also know this isn’t the end. We must remain vigilant. Proposals like this can reappear under new names or through different channels. Let’s stay connected, informed, and ready to stand up again if needed.
