IMPORTANT PETITION UPDATE — OUR VOICES ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

October 12, 2026 — Sebastian City Council Meeting
We have encouraging news to share with everyone who has signed and supported our petition!
At tonight’s Sebastian City Council meeting, Chris Nunn placed our petition into the official record and encouraged us to KEEP IT GOING!
Our petition is truly making a difference!
This is important progress, but our work is far from over.
We now have 935 signatures, and we need to continue growing that number!
The State of Florida has imposed a deadline of 2030 for affected homeowners to comply with new septic requirements. Many homeowners have no access to sewer connections and face the possibility of spending $20,000–$30,000 or more to upgrade their septic systems.
We support protecting our beautiful Indian River Lagoon, but homeowners need realistic timelines and financial assistance to comply.
OUR NEXT STEP — CONTACT OUR STATE LEGISLATORS!
We are asking everyone to write letters to:
- **State Representative Robert A. “Robbie” Brackett — House District 34**
**Capitol Office:**
Room 209, House Office Building
402 South Monroe Street
Tallahassee, FL 32399-1300
**District Office:**
Suite B2-203, 1800 27th Street
Vero Beach, FL 32960
- **State Senator Erin Grall — Senate District 29**
**Capitol Office:**
Room 316, Senate Building
404 South Monroe Street
Tallahassee, FL 32399-1100
**District Office:**
Suite A149, 3209 Virginia Avenue
Fort Pierce, FL 34981
**Satellite Office:**
1069 U.S. Highway 27 North
Lake Placid, FL 33852
Tell them how this mandate will affect you and your family. Ask them to address the funding gap, provide financial assistance for affected homeowners, and consider extending the compliance deadline where sewer connections or affordable alternatives are unavailable.
Our state legislators need to understand that many homeowners simply cannot afford these upgrades within the current timeframe.
PLEASE KEEP SHARING OUR PETITION!
Ask your friends, neighbors, family members, and fellow homeowners to sign and share it.
Every signature represents another voice asking for a fair and affordable solution.
To everyone who has signed, shared, and supported this effort — THANK YOU!
Tonight showed us that our voices are being heard. We must continue working together to protect both our Indian River Lagoon and the homeowners who call this community home.
