1,241 Supporters and Counting: The Founding 1,000 Have Spoken
To the Founding 1,000 and everyone who has joined since:
We crossed 1,000. Then we kept going.
This petition has now reached 1,241 supporters, shattering our first major milestone well ahead of schedule. We are now only 259 signatures away from the next Change.org goal.
The last 24 hours were extraordinary. We added 316 new signatures in a single day. We did not just maintain our pace. We tripled it. From 925 to 1,241, this petition grew by 34.2% in just 24 hours.
This is no longer just momentum. This is acceleration.
The Numbers Tell a Deeper Story
Of the 316 new signatures, 283 came from Ghanaians in Ghana. That is approximately 89.6% of the latest wave.
This demonstrates powerfully that the call for fair reparative citizenship is not being carried by the Historic Diaspora alone. Ghanaians at home are stepping forward in overwhelming numbers, making it clear that reparative justice is a shared national responsibility.
This is Pan-Afrikan solidarity in motion: Ghanaians and the Historic Diaspora standing together.
The Process Must Match the Promise
The message is simple: if Ghana says the Historic Diaspora is welcome, the pathway to reparative citizenship must be fair. If the return is reparative, the process must not be exclusionary. Access must not be blocked by prohibitive costs or barriers that ignore the historical context of the Diaspora.
This movement is calling for real reform:
- Reviewing and suspending the prohibitive GHS 25,000 citizenship application fee
- Permanently removing DNA as an exclusionary barrier
- Ensuring real, constituency-mandated representation for the Historic Diaspora
- Establishing a clear, year-round pathway to reparative citizenship
- Building a process grounded in reparative justice, not exclusion
What Is Powering This Surge?

Media Momentum
The message is moving far beyond the petition page. Following the successful interview on WSYP Sankɔfa Radio with Attorney Anthony Muhammad, the conversation is scaling up.
This coming week, Ɔbenfo Ọbádélé Kambon will return to I Never Knew TV, which has 727,000+ subscribers. One of his previous appearances there discussing “The DARK Truth About DNA Testing for African Ancestry” has drawn 75,000 views, making this upcoming interview especially timely as we amplify the call for permanently removing DNA as an exclusionary barrier from the reparative citizenship process.
