Thank you All !!

Thank you for your Support , Encouragement, and your individual efforts to have our voice heard.

Below is a reprint of All the feedback back that I received from our collective group that allowed us to make a comprehensive & detailed presentation to the CDD Board of why this was not a good idea for our Community as a Whole !!  Your Voice does make a difference, thank you !!

Disadvantages of Proposed Parking on Old Croquet Courts. (Copy of Presentation to CDD Board 4-18-24)

Interference with Expansion Plans: The proposed parking site would interfere with the expansion plans of other recreational facilities such as bocce and the gym. This limitation hampers the potential growth and development of these amenities.
Negative Impact on Veterans Park, Tennis, and Pickleball: The parking site would have a negative impact on nearby facilities such as Veterans Park, tennis courts, and pickleball courts. This could disrupt the activities and enjoyment of these spaces for residents and visitors.
Removal of Green Space: The conversion of the Old Croquet Courts into parking spaces would result in the removal of valuable green space at the entrance to the village center. This loss of greenery not only diminishes the aesthetic appeal but also creates a poor impression for prospective buyers and visitors.
Safety Concerns

Hazard for Pedestrians and Vehicles: The planned entrance from the drop-off circle in front of the Community Center poses a significant safety hazard for both pedestrians and vehicles. This layout could lead to potential accidents and injuries due to the proximity of pedestrian areas and vehicle traffic.
Risk of Accidents: The proximity of parking spaces to the courts and pedestrian areas increases the risk of accidents. Noise, fumes, and headlights from parked vehicles could disrupt games and pose dangers to players and spectators.
Loss of Green Space and Amenity Area

Impact on Recreation Area: The loss of green space adjacent to the pickleball courts would hinder the placement of bocce courts, negatively impacting the recreational area surrounding the Community Center.
Impact on Events: Events like PickleFest would suffer from the lack of available outdoor space for activities such as barbecues and outdoor seating, diminishing their potential and attractiveness to participants.
Cost Implications

Increased Cost for Recreation Facilities: Relocating recreational facilities like bocce courts would incur substantial additional costs for building 4 new courts with lights in a different location, contradicting the argument of a cost-effective parking solution.
Aesthetic Cost: The conversion of green space into parking lots would result in a loss of aesthetic value, diminishing the beauty of the area, recreational enjoyment & use fro the Tennis, Pickleball, Bocce groups and residents looking to enjoy the communities surrounding beauty and potentially affecting property values.

In conclusion, the proposed parking site on the Old Croquet Courts presents numerous disadvantages, including interference with expansion plans, safety concerns, loss of green space, and increased costs for recreation facilities, and further development opportunities for our Amenities.   Alternative solutions should be explored to address parking needs without compromising the quality of life and recreational opportunities for residents.  I have proposed other parking options to be explored by our Board and Civil Engineer to determine viable options for our community.  The Board has listened and is looking at other options !!  Thank you!
