RECALL PETITION UPDATE — STILL WAITING FOR SIGNATURE VERIFICATION

On August 24, 2026, we formally submitted the recall petition to SEA.
On September 24, WEA Director Mary Howes, who is now serving as SEA Interim Executive Director, informed us she was taking responsibility for the recall petition process. Mary confirmed that:
• August 24 would remain the official petition-submission date.
• SEA had 6,261 dues-paying members on that date.
• The required 10% signature threshold was identified as 621 signatures.
• Mary, SEA staff, and six SEA Board volunteers would conduct signature verification.
• Verification would determine membership eligibility, remove duplicates, and establish the final number of valid signatures.
• If the threshold was met, a General Membership Meeting would be scheduled for the recall election by October 23, 2026.
We submitted the requested materials. We still have not received the results of the signature verification or a substantive progress report explaining where verification currently stands.
We have followed up again with Mary requesting an update.
SEA members who would also like information about the status of the verification process may respectfully contact:

A simple question is enough: Has verification of the August 24 recall petition signatures been completed, and if not, what remains to be completed?
This is a member-governance process. Members deserve timely and transparent information about where that process stands.
We will share any substantive response we receive.
