Thank you for signing our petition to deny parole to Jose Gonzalez.  

     As you might recall, in 1977 Gonzalez brutally bludgeoned to death an innocent couple, Essie and James Effron, because he was enraged that the Effrons had fired him as a salesman at their store's going-out-of-business sale.  Essie and James had decided to retire after Essie was diagnosed with cancer and had major surgery and a brutal course of chemotherapy. 

     After delays, Gonzalez's next parole hearing  has been postponed again, and  it is likely that the hearing will now be scheduled for a date early in 2024.  The postponement provides more time for people to sign our petition before we submit it to the parole board, so please ask family and friends to add their signatures.  Signing does not require a contribution to Change.org.

     We appreciate your help in trying to keep the vicious murderer locked up, so that he can never harm anyone again.
