Petition updatePetition To City of Vancouver For Vancouver Cabin CityTHE CITY OF VANCOUVER VIOLATING HUMAN RIGHTS
Mary Smith (Marlee)Vancouver, Canada
Aug 26, 2025

Judges have ruled that Section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights of Freedoms, which protects the right to life, liberty and security of the person, includes housing rights, even if that "housing" is in an encampment.  (2024)

The City of Vancouver continues to displace unhoused residents without providing adequate housing.

The displacement of unhoused residents and their belongings is being enforced by the Parks Department and the Police Department.

This is in direct violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and a Human Rights violation. Unhoused Residents are to remain legally until adequate housing is provided. Adequate housing is a human right both internationally and domestically.
