Here's what's new

We're making progress, and your support keeps us moving forward! Here's what's happened so far:

I just spoke with the woman who is over City Council, she will be giving me a call back tomorrow to discuss how I need to proceed with having this put on the agenda for the next City Council meeting. If they agree to put it on the agenda, that meeting will be on November 10th, 2026.

I have been notified that the city of Gilmer has an ordinance already in place that does not allow signs in yards. They are trying to figure out a way to allow what we are asking in my proposal without going against an already existing ordinance. I have recommended that the offenders have a sign next to their door that is clearly visible instead of in their yard as a compromise.

I will keep everyone updated as I receive more information, thank you again so much for your support in this petition. It means the world to me to see our community come together to protect our children. We’re almost to 200 signatures!
