In writing "Time to Stop Running" I was inspired by many real life stories of hares and their mysterious ways, including the wonderful Hesper the Hare Facebook page. Here's an example of the heart-warming videos of Hesper that would touch even the hardest heart:

 In my novel, similar affection is bestowed on the Tipsy the Hare by one compassionate human...but other humans (from the dark side of life) seek only to misuse hares for their misguided amusement in coursing and hunting. I hope the novel, and facebook pages like the one dedicated to Hesper, help to bring closer the day when this gentle and inoffensive creature is afforded the protection it deserves.
