A badger, among other characters, features in my novel Time to Stop Running.
 
I wanted to draw attention to the plight of this shy nocturnal animal who suffers so much at the hands of mankind.
 
Baiting gangs subject badgers to deviously choreographed cruelty, while other humans scapegoat the animals for outbreaks of disease on farms, using snares and traps to capture them. 
 
The badger in the novel has survived both forms of human barbarity and tells his sad tale to Tipsy, the psychic hare.
