13th April - Telephone call with Bauer Radio Communications Director

I was really hoping that the next update might contain at least a small amount of positive news, but unfortunately that's not the case. Today I've had a call from the Communications Director of Bauer Radio, who wanted to follow up in person to an email I sent 2 days ago, detailing (again) all the reasons why they're making a bad move. She really did seem to be sympathetic and understood the passion of the listeners, but couldn't offer anything at all, not now or in the future. No compromise, no delay, no possibility of extra transmitters planned in the areas not covered. Nothing. At the moment I'm feeling rather defeated. I shall continue to ask people to sign the petition, especially as there are probably going to be lots more complaints next week when the switch-off actually happens. However, I will probably need to change to the focus of the petition to, perhaps, campaigning for new owners? I'd be grateful for any feedback and encouragement you can give me to carry on with this!
