Please Show Your Support

Hello Everyone,
The committee is pleased to share that, with the support of the family law community, the petition for “all court attendances shall be presumptively virtual unless the parties and their counsel agree otherwise or if the court for good reason orders that a particular attendance shall be in person or hybrid..” has reached 1,400+ signatures.
Some of the committee members recently hosted a Virtual Town Hall on Presumptive Hearings, where the panel of veteran Ontario family lawyers shared their insights on why virtual hearings can make family law more accessible. Based on an audience survey, the results showed that a large majority of audience members also shared this notion.
Please help and do your part in “urging the government to embrace technology, urge the government to invest in technology training so we can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the court system by leveraging the technology.” You can further show your support by contacting the Attorney General, Doug Downey and also contacting your local MPP.
To learn more, you can view the virtual town hall here.
Help the committee reach 1,500 signatures and spread the word by sharing this link with your network to support in our efforts.
Good Luck
