We, the residents of South Village Towers 1, 2, and 3, respectfully request that microwaves be made available in each tower lobby so that residents can access them even after 10 PM. Having microwaves available 24/7 for all students is a necessity.

Currently, residents are not permitted to keep microwaves in their rooms due to safety concerns, leaving students with limited options for heating their food. Additionally, the Community Kitchen has had issues with cockroaches, flies, and other bugs, making it difficult and uncomfortable for residents to prepare and store food in a space where cleanliness and contamination are concerns.

We suggest placing at least one microwave in the lobby of each tower. This would give residents a safe, convenient, and accessible way to heat their food at any hour without requiring microwaves inside individual rooms.

Having access to a microwave is a basic and practical need for students, especially those returning from late classes, work, studying, or other commitments after 10 PM. We hope Housing will consider this change to make South Village more accommodating and comfortable for all residents.
