Dear Eagle Park Residents,

We wanted to inform you that some of our mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC). To protect our community, SCDHEC will be spraying our neighborhood for mosquitoes early in the morning on Monday or Tuesday.

DHEC CONFIRMS MULTIPLE CASES - VIDEO

Here are some steps you can take to protect yourself and your home from mosquito bites:

🏡 **Protect Your Home:**
- **Eliminate Standing Water:** Mosquitoes breed in standing water. Be sure to empty water from flower pots, gutters, bird baths, and any other containers around your home.

Repair Screens:** Ensure that windows and doors have tight-fitting screens to keep mosquitoes out.
- **Use Outdoor Fans:** Mosquitoes are weak fliers, so using a fan on your porch or patio can help keep them away.

👤 **Protect Yourself:**
- **Wear Protective Clothing:** When outdoors, wear long sleeves, pants, and socks to reduce skin exposure.

  • - **Use Insect Repellent:** Apply a repellent containing DEET, picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus to exposed skin and clothing.
  • - **Avoid Peak Mosquito Activity:** Mosquitoes are most active during dawn and dusk. Try to limit outdoor activities during these times.

Your safety is our top priority. If you have any concerns or questions, please reach out to us.

Thank you for helping to keep our community safe!

Best regards,
