Culled from Akora Ofori's post on facebook 24/7/15.. I have spoken to the two teachers in question. The bungalows in question are nos 28&29 at Folley. They have built the wall around the bungalow and awaiting to put a gate. The teachers have been told that will give them a key to the gate once it’s built for another two weeks within which they should move out. Apparently a guy who described himself as the amankrado of the area visited them and gave them Gh1000 each to use as transport to move. When they refused, he left the money on their table and told them that he is only being kind and he does not want to worry them as they have not done anything to him. They threatened one of the teachers who have 3 girls living in the house that they do not want anything to happen to her girls and at the moment, he is protecting them but after two weeks, they will have no protection and her 3 girls can be exposed. She had parked her things ready to leave. The two teachers are hoping that thy will be out of the bungalow by the end of this months. At least that is what they have told the builders and they have assured them that once they keep to their words, then nothing will happen to them. They have overheard them saying that once they move, they will set the building alight and burn the bungalow down. I think just so that they can clear the land quickly The building work have now moved to another bungalow and have started building a wall around it. The occupiers of that bungalow have been given similar condition to move. The teachers do not think anybody have bought that land yet and they do not even believe that the action have been sanctioned by the Owu family. They think it’s just a group of individuals who have decided to make a criminal attempt to intimate the teachers and once nothing is done, then they will burn the bungalows down and sell the land. They believe the Achimota School land is free for all and whoever can scrape a piece can then go and sell. After all you don’t need any papers to sell or build on Achimota School land. If you can lay claim to one, it’s yours. Simple.
