We did it — the Jamaican government has extended the GCT tax and import duty relief to December 31, 2025! This is a major win for the people, proof that when the diaspora unites, our voices are heard.
However, 30 more days is still not enough. Many in our Jamaican diaspora across the U.S. are facing financial uncertainty, including federal workers who haven’t been paid for weeks. These are the same families who send barrels, remittances, and relief packages home.
We are asking for the relief period to be extended for at least 180 days — giving people time to stabilize and continue supporting loved ones and communities across Jamaica.
👉 Here’s how you can help:
- Contact the decision maker (Minister of Finance Nigel Clarke) and express why a longer extension matters.
- Share the petition link on all your platforms — encourage others to sign and speak up.
- Tag and uplift voices that can amplify this call for action.
Together, we’ve proven that persistence works. Let’s keep going until real relief reaches every family that needs it.
