UPDATE: Driver Rehired — New Concerns on Bus 476
I am updating this petition because, unfortunately, there have been new and serious concerns involving the same bus driver.

After the original incidents that led to this petition, the driver was fired. However, she was rehired the following school year and is now driving Bus 476.

Recently, another concerning incident involving this driver was reported. According to a parent’s account, the driver allegedly physically grabbed multiple students, drove off the roadway multiple times while traveling at high speeds, and prevented two students from getting off the bus at their home despite their mother demanding that they be allowed to exit.

Perhaps one of the most disturbing details came from a parent who was on the phone with their child during the bus ride. The parent reported repeatedly hearing the children on the bus suddenly scream in unison each time the driver allegedly drove off the roadway. Imagine being on the other end of that phone, hearing a bus full of children scream and knowing your child is on board.

These new allegations are especially troubling considering the history that led to this petition and the fact that the driver had already been fired and was later allowed to return to transporting children.

This raises serious questions about why she was rehired and what steps are being taken to ensure the safety of the students riding her bus.

The purpose of this petition has always been simple: our children deserve to be safe.

When parents and students repeatedly raise concerns about the same driver, those concerns should be taken seriously. Parents should not have to wait for something tragic to happen before action is taken.

We are asking that the most recent incident involving Bus 476 be thoroughly investigated, that the previous concerns involving this driver be reviewed, and that there be accountability and transparency regarding the decision to allow her to return to transporting students.

Please continue to listen to your children and speak up when something doesn't seem right. Their safety has to come first.
