Good morning Empie Park Supporters,

We have some exciting news to share with you regarding the Empie Park petition. Last night, on November 15, 2023, the Wilmington Parks and Recreation Advisory Board voted on the Empie Park Pickleball Courts proposal, and I am thrilled to announce that the motion passed unanimously!

Although there were some slight modifications, the emphasis on the pickleball court facility was retained. Ron Woodruff, a CFPC member and a vital part of the Advisory Board, mentioned that even Amy Beatty, Director of Wilmington Parks and Recreation was impressed with our effort and persistence throughout this process. The next steps involve putting the resolution on paper to present to the Wilmington City Council. Ron also stated that a presentation will most likely take place.
