Here is your Don Barris True Fact #2

This is a lengthy one, but all facts are important and connected:

Don Barris was the inspiration behind the popular song, ‘Bushel and a Peck’ (1950).

Doris Day’s (‘Bushel & a Peck’ singer) hairstylist, was Don’s Aunt Colleen. (RIP 1994)

Doris would always ask Colleen, “Where’s my sweetie little baby boy!”

Doris Day had the song written as a gift for Don’s 5th birthday, and it was later featured in the classic musical film ‘Guys and Dolls’ (1955)

Semi-related fact:

Don Barris was hiding under the table in the 1978 ‘Wellaflex’ hairspray commercial that featured hairstylist Colleen Callahan (Don’s aunt) & actress/icon Phyllis Diller.

Don does not receive residuals for the Wellaflex commercial.
