We, loyal customers, want service packs for Windows 7 and Windows 8 to come back.

Service Packs were popular and needed because they were adding new functions and what is more important, they were cumulative updates providing important system patches with one installation instead of installing all small updates separately. That was very handful and time saving way, liked by users and administrators as well.

Nowadays speed of internet connection on users’ end is much faster than few years ago, but size and number of updates grew up too. In case of Windows 8 user have to download over 2GB of updates. Also updates are not coming in one wave, it is needed to check Windows Update few times to install all updates for freshly installed operating system. When user performs installation/reinstallation Windows 8 is loosing valueable time for downloading all updates via Windows Update instead of performing single installation from .exe/.msi/.msu/.iso file.

We, loyal customers, want service packs for Windows 7 and Windows 8 to come back. We do not expect new functionality, we just need service packs as cumulative sets of updates available as single installer. Releasing service packs will save lots of time needed to download and install updates.

Please, do not say update called „Windows 8.1” is replacement for service pack because it is not truth. Before upgrade Windows 8 forces to download large number of updates to let to upgrade to Windows 8.1
