Dear Representative [Last Name], My name is I am writing to respectfully urge the Civil Judiciary Committee to place House Bill 3119 on the agenda for discussion and to vote yes to pass it. HB 3119 is a fair, targeted fix that extends the time limit for filing certain health care liability claims only when people had a good-faith belief that federal law (like the PREP Act) prevented them from suing earlier. It does not reopen old, already-barred cases-it simply gives Oklahomans a reasonable chance at justice when confusion about federal rules caused delays, especially during emergencies. This bill protects patients' rights without being unfair to health care providers. It upholds basic fairness and access to the courts for those who were harmed by inappropriate treatment. The bill simply codifies what has been already established by previous court decisions. I respectfully ask that you add HB 3119 to the committee agenda soon, and Vote yes when it comes up for consideration.
