Pat, a local peacock beloved by his community, was recently struck by a car. This unfortunate incident led to a great deal of concern and distress within his community, underscoring how cherished these animals are and how important it is to ensure their safety.

I am relieved to report that Pat is now recovering, but his experience sheds light on the threats that peacocks can face in our communities. These incidents underscore the need for concrete protective measures to safeguard these beautiful birds from harm.

While the proposed Peacock Protection Act cannot prevent every accident, it aims to provide protections for peacock habitats and deterrents for potential harm, fostering a safer environment for these creatures to thrive.
