Despite the DoD mandate being rescinded, the DoD has been slow in correcting any of the damages done to Service Members caused by the DoD’s illegal actions and they are telling service members that it may take “at least 24 months” to correct their discharge to Honorable. 

Why does this matter? Many of the Service Members affected were looking forward to using their GI Bills for education that they earned while in service to pursue their next career. Waiting for 2 years to get their discharge corrected will effectively deny them the opportunity to use these benefits in a timely manner, will limit their employment opportunities, and continue to cause harm that should have never occurred in the first place. There are also Service Members who were denied promotions due to the illegal mandates and are still waiting for these to be corrected. 

Lastly, there still has not been any accountability for our Military Leaders who illegally coerced unlicensed and experimental EUA products on Service Members which continues to cause permanent damage to our Military and fellow Americans. Meanwhile, the DoD continues to retaliate against a fellow Whistleblower, Mark Bashaw, who exposed the harms of these EUA products and is being actively pursued for discharge from service after 17 years of faithful service to his Country and Oath to the Constitution. Mark was the only Court-Martial throughout the Covid mandates. After his case the DoD stopped Courts-Martial despite numerous service members requesting them (myself included) because the policies of discrimination and abuse were so blatantly antithetical to the law. Instead, the DoD exclusively pursued unaccountable administrative procedures to purge the force of religious members and those understanding and courageous enough to defend the Constitution.

There are two bills in right now in both the House and Senate, the AMERICANS Act. Sen. Ted Cruz (TX) and Rep. Dan Bishop (NC-09) each introduced them in January. Here’s the Press Release from Senator Cruz’s office which details other Senators who co-sponsored the bill. This bill is a good start, but we would like to see it reflect more of the items we proposed last year in these NDAA amendment proposals.

Here’s the House AMERICANS Act and the Senate AMERICANS Act versions of the bill.

1.  Call your local Representative and Senators encourage them to support the AMERICANS Act if they are not already. There are a few ways for you to reach Congress listed below.

2.  Email or message your Representative and Senators with Rep Bishop’s office Cc’d (alexandra.mccandless@mail.house.gov) or Sen Cruz’s (steve_guest@cruz.senate.gov) as appropriate. This will allow their offices see the support from this call-to-action.
