UPDATE:

Yesterday - Tuesday 4th March 2025 - we submitted the petition to the Dutch Parliament. 

Now signed by over 22,400 individuals, the petition highlights the deteriorating human rights situation in Kenya under William Ruto’s leadership. It calls on the Netherlands to take a principled stance against these abuses.

Representatives from various Dutch political parties present yesterday, pledged to discuss the issue within their factions & indicated their formal support by committing to raise the matter with the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Caspar Veldkamp. 

The submission of the petition at parliament has further prompted the Dutch political arena to place this matter on the agenda, so that in the coming days, the implications of the state visit and the situation in Kenya can be discussed.  

Yesterday's meeting builds on ongoing efforts, including discussions and an earlier submission at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Dutch Human Rights Ambassador, all focused on addressing critical human rights concerns and advocating for meaningful action.
