One week ago Save St. Mike's and Save St. Monica’s Volunteers greeted the 1000+ attendees to the Wedding of the Sea Event at Boardwalk Hall. We gained support by distributing over 600 badges and collected another 150+ signatures on petitions and mandates. A reporter from the Press of Atlantic City is now preparing a major article on our efforts and met with parishioners, supporters, and toured St. Michaels Church. Three representatives of Save St. Mikes met with Fr. Jon Thomas, the new pastor of all the Churches in Atlantic City. The only certain message is that St. Michael’s Church and St. Monica’s Churches will close after Masses on Sept. 27. Let’s vote with our feet and pocketbook and get 100 additional persons to attend all the remaining 11:00 am Sunday Masses at St. Michaels and donate $10.00. Send a clear message to the Pastor, the Bishop, and the Vatican that St. Michaels Church is a beautiful community shrine and its closing is wrong and destroys what little remains of our cultural, spiritual, and historical traditions. This stops now …here in Ducktown.
