We will close the petition to stop the Mt. Fuji Railway Plan, which we began on November 5, 2024.

On November 18, 2024, Yamanashi Prefecture announced that it has cancel the “Mt. Fuji Railway Plan” to build a LRT, due to opposition.

As an alternative, it presented a new “Fuji Tram (tentative name)” that would run on the road surface with tires.

However, since Yamanashi Prefecture's ultimate goal is a large-scale development at the fifth station of Mt.Fuji, and the impact on environmental degradation would be immeasurable, we have continued our signature drive since then, and as of December 18, 2024, we have received signatures from 23,843 people (excluding invalid signatures), including online signatures and those received via petition forms.

We will continue to convey your love of Mt. Fuji to the government and the public at large.
