I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to urge you to sign and support the petition calling for the UK Parliament to reconsider the Rwanda Plan for asylum seekers. The situation surrounding illegal immigration continues to grow more pressing, and it is crucial that we take decisive action before the problem worsens further.

While other European countries, such as Italy, are transferring asylum seekers to Albania under controversial pacts, the UK has abandoned its Rwanda plan. This proposal, though shelved by Keir Starmer’s government for reasons that remain unclear, offered a practical solution. It aimed to process asylum claims in Rwanda, giving people the opportunity to gain refugee status and begin a new life there. The plan would have significantly reduced the pressure on the UK's resources while mitigating the growing social and cultural complexities in England, Wales, and Scotland.

Even Martin Hewitt, the Border Security Commander, has advised the Prime Minister that merely cracking down on smuggling gangs will not suffice. He emphasized the importance of a stronger deterrent, such as the Rwanda plan, to effectively manage illegal immigration. Despite this, the government has instead committed £521 million to an eight- to 12-year contract for migrant processing centres in Manston and Kent, covering staffing, security, and healthcare. This contradicts Labour's pledge to end migrant crossings and offers no long-term solution to the growing crisis.
