Our campaign colleagues in Sligo - The Sligo Greenway Co-op is making great progress on the Sligo section of the overall project, fortunately in Sligo the County Council is fully on board and is not trying to block the greenway from happening as is the case with Mayo county council, who will not listen to the people. Helping sligo greenway co-op realise the dream of a greenway from Collooney to Charlestown will put pressure on Mayo county council to listen. So here is an update from our fellow campaigners in Sligo and a request to help make that part of the greenway at least happen! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ News from sligo greenway co-op The Greenway Technical Feasibility Study sponsored by Sligo county council and Sligo Greenway co-op has been completed and shows very favourable results for the creation of the Sligo greenway. Sligo greenway co-op are continuing to work closely with Sligo County Council to create phase 1 of the Western Rail Trail from Collooney to Charlestown Sligo Greenway Co-op is launching a new shareholding/membership appeal. Numbers are needed to convince public representatives and funds are needed to progress various aspects of the campaign. Becoming a shareholder ensures both and makes you a part of the campagin.
