So in about 24 hours, the UA MEChA effort has produced more than 1000 signatures. The student organization does not have an actual number goal, other than gathering thousands of signatures. Everyone continue to post to your lists/networks, but even more importantly, write directly to your friends/colleagues. In that manner, by Dec 12, we should have at least 5,000, but we won't stop there. Thank you to everyone regarding this because once again, MEChA is being maligned by ultra-right forces (we are used to that in Arizona). The point is, as a larger community, we need to both assist and defend UA MEChA... By no coincidence, MEChA Nationals is at the UA and Pueblo High School in Tucson this year... so this will battle-harden them. Also, there are two other national conferences at the same time... so everyone is preparing. The one thing people should know is this community is not accepting a-la-Trump or a-la Illegal Pete sitting down. Keep the signatures coming. Thanks
