Changing Laws to Reduce Distracted Drivers

Changing Laws to Reduce Distracted Drivers

The Issue

The issue with today's drivers is as simple as one, two, three. Distracted driving is a major issue not only locally but also globally. If we can change one state we can influence others. Distracted driving mostly affects teens and young adults ranging from 16-20. Statistically, men are more affected by it then woman accident wise. hence why insurance rates are higher then men.

It's a problem because not only does it affect family by having fatal accidents, but they also can cause environment and property damage as well as causing financial trouble. Even when an accident is not fatal, injuries alone can cost up to $126,000 which can leave a struggling family devastated financially and emotionally. In 2015 over 3,477 people died in crashes caused by distracted driving alone and in 2013 over 31% of deaths were caused by accidents.

When you sign this petition, you are telling your local legislative branch and others around the world that you care about the safety of your community and the future of your children. What we can do to solve this problem is to make a laws to prevent people from driving distracted. It can range from pulling over someone who is distracted or looks distracted to full on giving a fine for people to are pulled over multiple times for being distracted. Be the one to change the future and sign this petition today.
