save the Louisville zoo animals
Animals seem to be kept in adverse conditions to their natural habitats. Polar bear was clearly over heating in its exhibit, with a paddling pool which was not deep enough for its body. The grizzle bear looked in a state of depression and had an obvious wound. The orangutans were not stimulated enough and that was very apparent, they didn’t have any play equipment/ toys compared to other zoos that we have visited. In general all animals seemed to be confined to small habitats. When we brought the issue with the polar bears to the attention of the zoo staff they didn’t appear to be concerned and mentioned that it had a small pool to sit in with cold water. It was upsetting for our group to see along with other visitors. I feel that this zoo is not here to prevent extinction but rather to make money from these animals and cause more suffering from them.
