Like many fellow citizens in Singapore, I am a pet owner - a special part of our family who not only brings joy but is a steady presence in our lives. More and more people in our nation share this sentiment, with the pet ownership rate in Singapore escalating over the past decade. However, unlike other family members, our pets do not have an affordable option for traveling to veterinarians, parks, or other essential spaces.

Currently, the restrictions on public transportation make it difficult for us to carry our pets in contained carriers. This limitation disproportionately affects those who can't afford private transportation for their beloved pets. As per the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore, there are approximately 824,600 dogs and cats in Singapore, indicating that this issue affects a significant portion of our population.
