Yesterday, a neighbor of mine and I had a meeting with Councilman Dan Strauss, during which we utilized PowerPoint slides to present the concerns outlined in this petition. These issues immediately captured Dan's attention, prompting him to take extensive notes throughout the presentation. He informed us that in collaboration with Mayor Harrell, his office has made significant strides in expanding the citywide homelessness response. This includes the establishment of neighborhood-based homelessness response teams, aimed at resolving encampments by prioritizing the relocation of individuals into shelter rather than simply displacing them within the community. Dan also mentioned his ongoing collaboration with residents, such as ourselves, to address the encampments specifically in Ballard. 

We have undertaken a personal mission to compile all the Find it Fix it report numbers and forward them to him. We are currently making arrangements to meet with Dan in the near future and would like to follow up on the progress made regarding these reports.
