M.A.C Cosmetics claim they do not test on animals unless it is for a safety assessment, then an exception can be made. As far as they know, China is the only country that requires testing on animals for a product from here to be sold. They claim to be 'working toward a cruelty-free world', but there has been no progress for many years. How is this 'working' if no work is actually being done?
We would like to M.A.C cosmetics to cut off any partners in your company that require animal testing to sell products. Though the company is working towards a cruelty-free environment, there is not much work being done if the products must be tested on animals to be sold in China. We believe this company should stop selling to companies that require animal testing. This may seem as if business might decrease, but fans from other countries can order the products online. An idea we have is to sell the M.A.C Cosmetics online, specifically for China. By doing so, their labs do not have to test on animals for products to be sold in stores there. The Food and Drug Administration reports that 92 out of every 100 drugs that pass animal tests fail in humans. It is also very unethical and unfair to sentence over 100 million innocent animals to life in a laboratory cage and intentionally cause them pain, loneliness, and fear. Of course, harmful products cannot be sold without any knowledge of if it is safe or not, so that is why we suggest using “Organs on Chips” created by Wyss Institute. These small devices are compacted with human cells and tissue, creating a similar reaction to that of an actual human. This alternative way of testing products is less expensive, and more accurate. We hope they will take our ideas into consideration.
