The Issue

The town council of Penetanguishene is currently debating giving the go ahead to a residential developer to build over 100 homes in a forested tract that has been identified to house two endangered species of bats. In a Servern Sound land survey, several sections of this area were designated as a "gold" rating. This company also recommended that further restoration take place to remove envasive species and to plant native species that would further biodiversity and stability. The town council has so far ignored all of these recommendations and is attempting to convince the MNR that these issues, as well as the concerns of the towns citizen body are unimportant. Please sign this petition and show your support for these causes.
