Greetings, thanks to everyone who has signed and left important messages. I'm happy to report that our petition calling for a peer review boycott of non-China-based academic publications (and their holding companies) censoring content in China has already garnered 456 signatures! It would be great if we could get to 1000, so that we can send the strongest possible message to relevant organizations. Please share the link widely; it may be that some assume this is relevent only to Asia scholars. It isn't. All fields and regions are affected by such wide-ranging censorship. For more on the Chinese government's efforts and how they are enabled by digital technologies, see the most recent piece by Ben Bland in the Financial Times, "China Rewrites History with New Censorship Drive".
