The City of Evanston is developing a new updated Bike Plan and is inviting public feedback January 27th, 5:00-8;00pm, at the James Park Fieldhouse, and February 3rd, 6:00-9:00pm at the Robert Crown Community Center.
The city is also accepting feedback and input for bike facilities on-line at https://communityremarks.com/evanston/
Please use these opportunities- both the in-person meetings and the on-line link- to show your continued support for the protected bike lanes on Main St between the Channel and Ridge Ave.
It would only take a few minutes right now to place some pins on the above map with comments regarding your experiences with the current dangers of Main St today for both pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, and how these would be improved with a protected bike facility and other changes.
The Evanston Transit Alliance has a web page that provides some guidance as to some of other potential ideas and priorities for the next bike plan, if you want to provide input for more than just Main St: www.evanstontransitalliance.org/events/bike-plan-feedback-meeting
We encourage all advocates and stakeholders for bike infrastructure in Evanston to use this generational opportunity for providing input into the City’s plan. The end result will shape the next ten years + of infrastructure priorities in the community, so we cannot let this moment to make an impact pass us by.
Looking forward to seeing your feedback in the on-line Community Remarks map and for your attendance at the in-person meetings on Jan 27 and Feb 3.
Thank you for your continued support of a safer Main St and a safer Evanston for all!
