A while back, I discovered that Mark Moseley had a profile on Voice123, which he uses for if anyone wanted to contact him for providing voice overs or simply to do impressions. On his profile, there’s a very huge list of people that he apparently has the capability of impersonating.
Most people would probably know him best for frequently impersonating African-American actor and comedian Eddie Murphy, having often filled-in for Murphy in the roles of Mushu and Donkey whenever he was unavailable or simply for budget reasons. However, Moseley has impersonated more than just Murphy. He can impersonate Patrick Warburton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick Stewart, you name it!
Among the people Moseley listed on his profile, Gilbert Gottfried is one of them. Ever since I saw that, I became interested in seeing Moseley try out for and succeed Gottfried in the role of Digit, and Widgit, especially since Gottfried passed away last year from a very complex illness. With a season or more of “Cyberchase” likely on the horizon, I really don’t see why Moseley should prove himself as Gottfried’s successor. Heck, Disney should consider hiring Moseley to succeed Gottfried as Iago, mainly for if they want to use Gottfried’s version of the character for future animated products; Warner Bros. and DC should also consider hiring Moseley to succeed Gottfried as Mister Mxyzptlk, specifically if they want to use Gottfried’s version of the character for future DC installments.
What do you guys think, though? Would you like for Mark Moseley to succeed Gilbert Gottfried as Digit? And as Widgit?
