The big day is looming. Sally’s Tribunal hearing at the Social Security Offices will take place tomorrow afternoon. She is well prepared but to be honest, she is not too hopeful of being granted the Widows Pension – or indeed any financial help whatsoever. Social Services have offered her the £2 bus fare to get her to the meeting and say her piece. Its quite insulting really when you consider just how much she has given over the past 41 years when Sally and John lived together.. Just how much she cared, just how hard she worked to keep John out of hospital or a nursing home and save the NHS money.
That of course is your money and mine as tax payers. She will be speaking for all of us who live as unmarried partners. All for a reward of just £2 and a few minutes of an Official s time
We will keep you posted on the result of the hearing but meanwhile thank you for reading this.
