I am a nurse. I rely on Arriva buses to get to work. I live in Tuebrook. During the bus strike I am having to walk 40 minutes to a train station to get to work, to do a 12 hour night shift, then another 40 minute walk home following the night shift.

I am sure there are numerous others in similar situations, in Tuebrook, West Derby, and Croxteth, who rely totally on buses for public transport.

I do not blame the bus drivers, they deserve a decent, fair wage, having worked right through the COVID pandemic as key workers. Also, considering the abuse that bus drivers have to deal with, they deserve better! Arriva (Yorkshire) have increased their drivers wages to 9%. Merseyside Arriva are making substantial profits, and yet they persistently refuse to give their drivers a decent, fair wage!

It is an absolute disgrace that the bus company are treating their bus drivers, and their public, in this way!

Pay our drivers a fair and decent wage!
