🚨CHESTERFIELD/BURKE COUNTY: WE NEED YOU THIS MONDAY NIGHT!🚨

The school board voted to spend $246,000 in taxpayer money to tear down our historic Chesterfield Elementary School building on Pax Hill Road and turn it into an empty grass lot. We cannot let them erase our history when this building could be our future!

This Monday, August 3rd at 6:00 PM, our community coalition is going before the Burke County Board of Education to request a 90-day pause on the demolition. We have a solid plan to save the building and transform it into a vibrant community hub packed with resources our neighborhood desperately needs:

🌳 An immersive early educational playground & nature trails ("Nature's Playground")
🏀 Basketball, baseball, and soccer facilities for our youth
🍎 A seasonal farmers market & indoor food court
📚 Adult GED classes, heritage classes, and a community micro-library
🎉 Affordable family event spaces & senior-youth mentorship programs 

We are NOT asking the school board for money. We are just asking for 90 days to finalize private funding and non-profit partnerships to take this building off their hands for good.
