Petitioning Paul Martin

Protect London's culture & independent business. Save Tooting music venue #TheSoundLounge

0 have signed. Let’s get to 7,500.

The Sound Lounge in Tooting is London's newest music venue and since opening its doors just 7 months ago, the Not-For-Profit arts centre has played host to 99 live music shows showcasing over 240 bands and artists from all over the UK and beyond, 28 free family workshops, 22 charity events, 4 art exhibitions as well as training 8 young refugees and offering free coffee for people suffering from isolation every single week.

An application to develop the building which currently houses The Sound Lounge, has been submitted to demolish & build flats, a hotel & large retail spaces.  The Sound Lounge has not been informed or consulted in writing or verbally about the plans.  Nor has it been included in the development.

To lose The Sound Lounge would be to lose a crucial community and cultural asset. It would also be a loss to one of the most independent high streets in London.

Please tell Paul Martin, Chief Exec at Wandsworth Council & Barrowfen Properties that independent art, culture and community require their urgent support and protection.
