You can see a video of the conditions they are expected to work in here: https://www.facebook.com/uvwunion/videos/1710730632328502/ Of most concern is that the filters in the masks they are provided with are completely clogged and whilst they should be replaced at least weekly they are now not even replaced monthly. This means the workers are being forced to inhale huge amounts of dust and fumes, as can be seen in these shocking video, which could lead to serious respiratory diseases, including lung cancer. In addition, the workers are provided with inadequate earmuffs, worn out gloves leading to regular cuts and sores, and flimsy goggles which have led one worker to have surgery to his eye. Furthermore, there are no showers for them at the end of their shift and the toilets are rat infested. To top it off they are paid only the minimum poverty wage of £7.50 per hour.
